The Guitar Collection: George Harrison iPad app, celebrating the guitarist and his historical guitar collection, is out now!

The app is selling for $9.99 at the iTunes App Store. You can see the trailer for the app at the official George Harrison website here.

The Guitar Collection: George Harrison brings the musician's private guitar collection to life through photographs, detailed descriptions, audio, and video footage. For the first time, with the help of unique 360° imaging by photographer Steven Sebring, fans can see the scratches, dings, and worn threads on the guitars. The history of each guitar is laid out in great detail, including the origin of the guitar, when and how it became part of Harrison's collection, modifications he made to it and why each was so important in creating his distinctive sound. Accompanying audio and recordings from Harrison himself as he introduces many of the guitars and plays sections of songs, allow the user to appreciate the personalities of each instrument.



The app features a number of Harrison's best known guitars, including:

• the Gretsch G6128 Duo Jet
• the Gibson J-160E
• the Rickenbacker 360/12
• the Fender Stratocaster named 'Rocky'
• the Ramirez Classical, the Fender Rosewood Telecaster
• the Zemaitis Lotus 12-String
• Additional guitars will be added to the app in the future.

Also featured is video with Ben Harper, Josh Homme, Mike Campbell, and Dhani Harrison, each playing and showcasing the guitars and exploring their feel and tone. Conan O'Brien and Dhani discuss what make these guitars so exceptional, and guitar great Gary Moore shares his views on what made George Harrison such a distinctive and influential guitar player.

16 DE ENERO «Día Internacional de los Beatles»

Ya hace 10 años que la Unesco estableció el día mundial de los Beatles, el día 16 de enero, en conmemoración del debut de la legendaria banda inglesa en la apertura del club Cavern de Liverpool, en el año 1957. Ese día tomado como referencia por los fanáticos, desde entonces es oficial: Todos los años, el 16 de enero se celebra el «Día Internacional de los Beatles».

Algunos años después de su debut, The Beatles alcanzaban la fama con sus primeros éxitos como la canción «Love Me Do» y luego con su álbum «Please Please Me», que lideró los rankings nacionales durante más de seis meses y marcó el inicio de la leyenda, en el año 1963.

The Beatles son sin duda la banda de rock más famosa y exitosa del siglo XX. En el año 2004 la prestigiosa revista de rock «Rolling Stone» publicó las 500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos, en la lista figuraban 23 canciones de los Beatles. Nadie ha logrado superar ni siquiera acercarse a la popularidad y trascendencia de la banda.

Un merecido homenaje a la banda de rock más importante e influyente de todos los tiempos; y a su líder, John Lennon, quien fue asesinado por un fanático mentalmente inestable el 8 de diciembre de 1980.

KISSES ON THE BOTTOM

Kisses on the bottom es un nuevo álbum de Paul McCartney compuesto por 2 nuevos temas propios y varias versiones.

La fecha prevista de publicación es el próximo 7 de febrero.

Se rumoreó como posible título del álbum, My Valentine, que finalmente quedo como el tema adelantado; con la guitarra de Eric Clapton. Es uno de los dos temas originales; el otro "Only your hearts" con la participación de Stevie Wonder.

"Sonarán como las canciones entre los años 1920 y 1940, la época en la que mi padre tenía 20 años. Estas son las canciones que yo escuché y que mi familia, mis tíos, y todos cantaban", comentó el propio Paul.

También han colaborado Elvis Costello, Diana Krall y el bajista John Clayton.
