Photograph By Ringo Starr Is Out Today!

"These are shots that no one else could have. I just loved taking pictures and I still do." – Ringo Starr.
Ringo reveals never-before-seen photographs and mementos from his archives, sharing memories of his childhood, The Beatles and beyond with original text, audio and video descriptions.
See Ringo growing up in Liverpool amidst the excitement of the emerging Merseybeat scene, as he remembers his time in hospital, his first car, drum-kits, girls and bands on his ‘road of happy drumming’.
Ringo’s lens captures his Beatles bandmates in pensive and playful moments, portraying them from the point of view of an insider, friend and skilled photographer. From Pwllheli to Delhi, obscurity to superstardom, his travels are recounted with honesty and hilarity as Ringo reveals the stories behind the images in the accompanying audio.

Let It Be, As Nature Intended.

Let It Be, As Nature Intended.

Let It Be… Naked Makes Its Global Digital Debut On iTunes Today

When The Beatles first set out to make Let It Be in 1969, they intended to record an album that would be a return to live performance. No studio effects or overdubbing of voices or instruments would be allowed - just the bare necessities of the band.
Let It Be… Naked is the stripped-down, return-to-live-takes album that The Beatles originally aimed to create, free of vocal and instrumental overdubs or added effects.
"If we'd had today's technology back then, it would sound like this because this is the noise we made in the studio. It's all exactly as it was in the room. You're right there now." PAUL MCCARTNEY
In addition to the 11-track album, the iTunes LP features all of the original booklet art and liner notes, as well as bonus audio of studio banter captured during The Beatles' 1969 recording sessions for Let It Be.

Music videos for the "Naked" versions of "Get Back" and "Don't Let Me Down" are also exclusively available on iTunes for download purchase and free streaming.
"It's just us playing, in our best voices, it's very honest." GEORGE HARRISON
Over the next couple of weeks we will be celebrating Let It Be… Naked in a few ways. We are launching a series of five special podcasts featuring tracks from the album, original archive sound from the making of Let It Be, and interviews with Paul, George and Ringo reflecting on that period in The Beatles' career.
The podcasts will be featured on the Let It Be… Naked site, or alternatively catch them on Facebook and Twitter. The complete version should be available for download on the iTunes podcast store shortly. It will be annnounced at thebeatles.com
Today, in Chapter One, we explore the process of making the original Let It Be album and film; why Let It Be… Naked has been released as an album distinct from the original Let It Be, and where The Beatles were at as a band at the time of recording.
"The music always surpassed any bullshit we were going through; once the count-in happened we turned back into those brothers and musicians." RINGO STARR

Check out the Let It Be… Naked flickbook - you can find the podcasts, animation, music previews, artwork and more.
We are also running a video scavenger hunt - find the four clips on the web - watch the The Beatles Facebook space to find clues!
"In spite of all things, The Beatles could really play music together" JOHN LENNON

First Major Exhibition To Explore The Life Of Ringo Starr

Ringo: Peace & Love To Premier At The GRAMMY Museum® June 12, 2013 and Tour Selected Cities Through 2014

This one-of-a-kind, limited-run exhibit will offer visitors an unprecedented in-depth look at all aspects of Ringo's musical and creative life - as a musician, artist, actor, and as the man the world knows and loves simply as 'Ringo.'
It will also aim to propel Ringo's universal message of peace and love.
Ringo: Peace & Love is both the first major exhibit ever dedicated to a drummer and the first to explore the extraordinary career of the 7-time GRAMMY Award® winner.
The scope of exhibit spans Ringo's early life growing up in Liverpool, from Raving Texans turned Rory Storm, from The Beatles, to becoming a solo artist and then to the All Starrs with whom he is on tour now - this unique collection brings together diverse artifacts, rare and never before seen photographs, documents, personal letters and footage.
The exhibition will feature:
  • The drum kit Ringo played at Shea Stadium
  • The drum kit he played on the Ed Sullivan show
  • Ringo's Sgt Pepper Suit
  • The cape he wore in Help!
  • The Red Jacket worn during the filming of The Beatles' rooftop concert
  • Personal letters, photographs and documents from the Starkey family and Ringo's days with the Beatles
It will also be an interactive exhibit, where visitors can take a drum lesson with Ringo.
